Join us for a half‑day workshop of Kemetic Yoga—a slow, meditative practice rooted in the spiritual science of ancient Kemet (Egypt). No experience needed. No competitive contortions. Just breath, presence, and the wisdom of the ancestors.
What You’ll Experience
· The Rule of Four Breathing – learn the foundational 4‑part breath cycle that moves life force (Ankh) through the body
· The Teken Sequence – gentle, geometric postures that align the spine and open the joints
· Poses of Ausar, Immortality, Anpu, and Auset – channel the principles of the neteru (deities)
· Guided meditation & book passage – connect directly to the world of Stitching the Sun
· Closing circle & take‑home guide – continue your practice at home
Materials included
Limited to 12 participants. Register by September 18.
Bring: Yoga mat or thick blanket/beach towel, water bottle, comfortable clothing, an open heart.
“Kemetic Yoga is not about how deep you can bend. It is about how deeply you can breathe—and how quietly you can listen.”
— Stitching the Sun
About the Author & Practice
The author of Stitching the Sun practices Kemetic Yoga herself. Kemetic Yoga is designed to alleviate the stress and trauma specifically experienced by Black people in America, throughout the diaspora, and Africa. This workshop is offered in that same healing tradition.
About the Book
Stitching the Sun: The Granddaughters of Hathor is a visionary Afrofuturist story collection where Kemetic Yoga, soil singing, neuro‑acoustic frequencies, and memory‑keeping are technologies of liberation. Books available for pre‑order at the workshop.
